Cash registers are the devices used at business sales counters for the purpose of counting sales and to give right change and receipt for the customer. Cash drawer is the instrument which is attached to this device and it can be used to store the cash. During the time of transaction, drawer will open allowing the cashier to give proper change to the customer, if needed. Electronic cash registers work in a simple way that anyone can operate it easily. Bar code scanner is another instrument attached to registers. These scanners will scan the product purchased by the customers and will make a note of it. This device notes the name and model of the product along with its size and price details.
Cashier will give details of mode of payment and the amount paid by the customer, as an input to the system. Cashier will check if the customer gets some money as change. If needed, he or she gives change amount to the customer. After the completion of transaction, command for printout of the receipt will be given. Receipt for the transaction done, will be given to the customer. Cash registers have record of each and every transaction done through it.
