Every vehicle touring on road is uniquely identified through a registration number for official purpose. Car registration plates consist of alpha-numeric sequence determining the region of its issuing database. It is a metal/plastic plate on which the lettering is done with black color and the background is of white color. The first two letters mentioned on the plate represent the state where the vehicle has been registered. The following two digit numbers are the sequential number of the district. The third part embodies a distinct four digit number which is sometimes prefixed by alphabets in case the numbers run out.
These Car registration plates are issued by the district level regional transport office (RTO). All the plates are based on Hindu-Arabic numerals with roman alphabets. The numbers are embossed on the registered number plate for clarity and visibility. The President of India and the governors of various states have different Car registration plates. Their cars have emblem of India embossed on a red colored plate. Though people of beau monde in oddity covet for specific numbers on their Car registration plates, but they should conform to the authorities. It helps in revenue generation as getting the desired number plate costs more.
